Erin (Huntimer) Laverdure



Erin (Huntimer) Laverdure works in community relations for Basin Electric Power Cooperative in Bismarck. She holds an undergraduate degree in Communications with a public relations concentration and an MBA with an energy management concentration, both from the University of Mary. She's a Certified Cooperative Communicator.

Through her work at Basin Electric, Erin is leading an effort to address the child care shortage in her home region by establishing the largest daycare center in Mercer County. She began the collaborative effort in the spring of 2016, where Basin Electric and seven other local employers together founded Energy Capital Cooperative Child Care to own and operate nonprofit child care centers in the county. The first, New Bethel Center, opened in a renovated church in the spring of 2017. A second center is being considered for Beulah. She serves as ECCCC board president.

Erin lives in her hometown of Stanton with children KayLee and Vander. Erin also serves on boards for the Northern Plains Heritage Foundation and Oliver County Farmers Union. She is a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service Bismarck office, and is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators Great Plains Chapter. She enjoys biking, yoga, golfing, camping, traveling and learning new things.
